where old meets new

I love finding new places for photos. These were taken on Sunday after church. Rob and I were trying to find a place to take some quick photos before he had to head off to work, and we found this adorable little church near a little park right downtown. I love buildings that look worn with time but still have a sense of being indestructible. It's always fascinating to see an old structure next to modern buildings, and to know that somehow this particular building has stood the test of time. It's moments like this when my internal history nerd comes out in full force.

This weekend was much cooler than our recent weather, so I had to bring out the tights again. The only pair that has survived the winter were these purple ones, but they actually seem to go well with my new dress anyway. I think the colours in this outfit are more suited to fall instead of spring, but sometimes you just have to dress in what feels right, and not what's seasonal!

Dress from Fraiche
Vintage purse
Vintage belt (tied at the front)
Grandmother's pearls
Sweet Holic shoes

A new goal for this blog is to have more creative titles for my posts. That's one area where I lack inspiration...I'm not good at little one-liners. So here is my first attempt. Any suggestions are welcome!

  3. It's such a cute color combination, but I totally know what you mean about it having a fall-feel. I think like ninety percent of my outfits end up feeling like they belong in the fall. Maybe a touch of bright bright turquoise or pink would spring it up a little (Maybe? I don't know. Like I said, I totally struggle with this too!)

I do love that dress, though--it's just darling!

  8. what a pretty pretty dress, and those shoes are lovely. I love finding great places to take photos, but with the kiddo's and work etc i don't often find time to go to those places! And was for the witty one liners, i'm lacking in that department too lol! :)x
